2015 albums

It's a little early now, but once we get into 2015 there will be great albums to listen to. Some stuff already leaked or is available like Viet Cong's self-titled, which I've heard and liked. Anyway this is the thread for albums that come out in 2015.

Sing Elliott Smith by Seth Avett & Jessica Lea Mayfield

So I don't know how all of you will feel about this album, but I'm a big fan. Cover albums can often be boring and unoriginal, but this is a really nice, simple tribute to an artist that both Avett and Mayfield have professed to love. And it doesn't hurt that Avett and Mayfield have great voices that complement each other almost perfectly.

I realize that it's only March, but I think 2015 is gonna prove to be a much better year than '14. Anyone else?

These three months are already better than the whole of 2014.

2014 gave us the hope to an end of Death Grips bullshit
2015 erased all hope

I think all years are pretty amazing. 2015 has been good, but the bigger releases have been less impressive from my perspective than the more obscure bandcamp releases I have been finding. Modest Mouse and AWOLNATION have been amazing and I'm excited for BTS, Everclear, and Ash, but 2014 presented me with a plethora of already established groups and artists that made more good music while I actually am looking through a different catalog entirely this year to find amazing stuff.

Agreed.

Anyway, Buena Vista Social Club released their first album in 18 years, and second album overall. Super excited to give it a listen and see if they still have it. With the RSD 7" release, it's looking positive for a reissue of their self-titled too. 😄

For the stuff I'm psyched on, 2014 was actually my favorite year of the decade so far. But it's felt like the flood of great music just never let up, and 2015 could end up even better.

They have a purpose though. As do all who make music and a world without them will be less.

Regardless of their stupid attention whore actions, their music is still great. Jenny Death I felt was their best project since The Money Store.

but in all seriousness, I'm pretty excited for the new Built to Spill too. I have very mixed feelings about the Modest Mouse album
