- Post subject: List of top tracks - Exclude tracks from compilation

For the time being the list of the best tracks for an artist includes tracks from compilation albums. So, sometimes there will be a track repeated in the list because it has been appeared on the greatest hits, EP, etc. This will cause other noticeable tracks do not appear at the bottom of the list. For example for David Bowie we have tracks "Heroes" and "Ashes To Ashes" repeated twice.
There can be two solutions for this,
1. The harder one: which is to combine the ratings of a track from various albums. The advantage of this option is to increase ranking of that track which has been noticed by users in different albums. In the above example the the track "Heroes" has appeared as No. 3 (356 votes) and No. 11. (105 votes). If these to ratings combine, The combined track might be rated higher (due to Bayesian formula) and ranked No. 2.
For your info. Last.fm combines No. of listen from various albums.
2. The easier way: Just add an option to the list to exclude tracks from compilation albums.

What about tracks that never were on an album except compilations? Like, single-only releases?

yes, this is already on the list to be done. Currently working on redesigning the whole site, but this will be implemented once this is finished.

with the filter, you could show all tracks and also be able to filter to only show those [not]/featuring on a compilation.
