Listened to the latest Julian Lage (good), then the latest Sun Kil Moon (great), then the latest Kacey Musgraves (very good), and now I'm onto the latest from The Apartments (very, very good). Solid post-work listening session. _________________ 2021 in full effect. Come drop me some recs. Y'all know what I like.

Some improvised dual guitar drone-y repetition stuff. First listen. Will add thoughts later. _________________ 2021 in full effect. Come drop me some recs. Y'all know what I like.

Yeah, this is fucking great. Almost feels like the evil twin of that new Sparkling Wide Pressure album I've been loving. Little repeated motifs, not dissimilar to that Sergio Sorrentino vs. Machinefabriek collaboration from a couple years ago, but definitely more frayed at the edges, occasionally underscored by these big heavy drones that recall Baker's work with Nadja. Sinister and psychedelic at the same time, the last part of the first section (this album is two different 20-minute tracks) could easily soundtrack some lo-fi sci-fi about some lost astronaut hurtling towards his/her death. Also, I'm getting a definite Faust vibe at times, especially during the second section when these delayed guitars tangle around each other until they almost resemble melting NES soundtracks while some shitty cornershop fireworks ejaculate prematurely all over the place. Really cool shit - could definitely see dbz or KKS or Saoirse or Nech or Defago or craola digging this. Very promising first listen.
EDIT: Why did everybody already jack Method Man's flow on 'Nightcrawler' before his verse arrived? So far, this sounds alright, but the beats are a step-down in quality from the first record - the last album was hardly on the cutting edge, but these beats sound dated without actually evoking the time period their aping (they're far too clean, and sound like some of the worst shit off of Iron Flag but not even that good), which basically means they're just uninspired, pointless retreads. Hoping this picks up, and Deck's still the sharpest Wu-Tang member this decade, but this is quickly paling in comparison to their last.
EDIT 2: Fuck it, gonna come back to this at a later date. Time to plug. _________________ 2021 in full effect. Come drop me some recs. Y'all know what I like.

Been on a Neil Young kick recently. Him and Beach House have sort of revived my interest in music a little bit now. Listening to this wonderful classic again. _________________
