The culmination of the band's melodic and lyrical genius. A shame they never recaptured what they accomplished on here.
junodog4Great pop music, with a biting lyrical undertone. Very introspective of British society.
This is one of the most underrated albums ever and my favorite by The Kinks. Most people don't know it because it's not on itunes. Best songs are Shangri-la, Victoria, and Brainwashed.

Pure perfect pop music, the sound created in Something Else and perfected in Village Green comes to a fundamental peak here, this album is ambitious, eclectic and perfectly crafted from start to finish, there is not a single weak note and some trully amazing achievemnts like Australia and Mr. Churchill Says...
Superb - the best Kinks album I think, despite there being so many gems to choose from!
This was a soundtrack to a TV show. It's a superb album. The Kinks deserve better, always.

Simply put, this one is one of the great creatively tuneful albums of all time and a wonderful suite which stands right up there with both Tommy and Sgt. Pepper's!
