Not quite as strong as my favourite Weather Report albums (Mysterious Traveller, Live in Tokyo, Tale Spinnin'), but not very far behind. Has the same breezy, summery vibe as Tale Spinnin', but isn't quite as successful in its execution, occasionally lapsing into moments that feel a little too formulaic. Then again, songs like 'Cannonball' - with its slinking, retrofuturist synth lines and that famous Shorter tenor sax that slices through the air - exemplify everything I love about the band during this period. Things started to go downhill after this, and I'd say this is the last amazing Weather Report album (even though I have a lot of time for Night Passage, and parts of Heavy Weather).
