Paranoid by Black Sabbath

Well, VMP announced this as its album of the month. Mastered from the original tapes with the original labelling and a gorgeous purple color. I never heard this album in its entirety, but I do remember being obsessed with the title track when Guitar Hero 3 came out. It's pretty sweet I now own this legendary album.

Paranoid plays like a dream (well, a nightmare really) in it's entirety. Of course I have it on CD, and I had it on original vinyl but I traded it to a friend for Are You Experienced.

I'm quite excited to hear it! I listened to their debut and thought it was pretty decent. Good thing I saved their iconic work on the format it's meant to be heard!

The debut is very good, Paranoid is their best, and Sabbath Bloody Sabbath is an underrated masterpiece. If you are somewhat new to them check that one out.

Black Sabbath's debut is my favourite by album of theirs by quite a bit. I'm actually quite surprised it isn't often cited as their best.

Strange choice for VMP... I think the only time I've been jealous of not being in that group was when they reissued Donuts. That packaging looked fantastic, and the glue on my copy barely sticks together ๐Ÿ™

That all being said, I got a new copy of Paranoid on vinyl a month or two ago.

I could choose any of the first 5 Sabbath albums as my favourite on any given day, they're all so fucking good.

Sabbath Bloody Sabbath by Black Sabbath
And given my current mood, I think this is the leader.

Strange choice for VMP...

I know, I thought it was going to be some underground metal band before they announced it. Lately they have been bringing their A-game, especially to the member store. Now I can't go a month without ordering one of their exclusives, DS2 being the most recent one for me. They are only getting bigger...

Metal is still an acquired taste. I couldn't see 100% of it's members being ecstatic about an Agolloch, Opeth, Isis, etc... getting a repressing.

Something safe like Black Sabbath, Metallica, even Mastodon, feels like a more accessible choice for metal.

They still have to please their members ๐Ÿคฃ If they ever issued out Merbow, people are gunna be pissed.
