Yeah, that's a pretty Q list. Not that that's a bad thing, I like most of those albums... but Maxinquaye at #2? Really? The greatest hip hop album of the 90s. Only Q.
any objective evaluation of the '90s requires the recognition of the objective fact that grunge and britpop are shitty and that U2 has been the most singular expression of musical fascism since they stopped making the post-punk records with that boy's face on them. you can't prove me wrong, so i'm right.
look honestly if we're trying to "objectively" represent the state of popular music in the 90s then for better or for worse you're probably looking at a lineup something like this
If you were looking at it with non-bias (see: objective) you wouldn't be so quick to dismiss OK Computer. So the whole "looking at it objectively..." is full of crap in this instance.
