As we're nearly at the end of the year I wonder how everyone else who was participating in this oh-so-foolhardy game got on. I've managed to get up to 60, with the latest installment being added today:
I never thought when I started this off I'd get anywhere near 50, but it turns out with some crate digging and bargain hunting you don't need to spend the earth to get the records you want on plastic, assuming you're mad enough to do so (and have the space) to begin with. As always I'm going to keep persevering to see how much further I get, but realistically I'm now only really after...
I think we should still keep this thread active so we can all keep a look out for what other forum users might be after - Discogs is probably the best source for this as it allows you keep a wishlist. If you're up for it, either drop a link in this thread or if you don't have a website you want to promote make it correspond to the WWW button at the bottom of your sig. Happy hunting, Xmas and ting. _________________ 'Reggae' & t'ing Folk 'n Stuff SHAMELESS RECORD DEALER PLUG

Agreed. I actually think this is one of our more interesting threads right now.
Hoping to do some boxing day record shopping in Toronto. Looking forward to it ๐ ... just not the getting trampled part.
I wish the Canadian dollar would stop declining ๐ I've had to stop buying records in the states recently. _________________ Doubles & Conch
I think as of what Im looking at now I've got about 5 of my top 50. Having a really difficult time finding a lot of it. Still on the lookout for In den Garten Pharoas and it's looking like this might eventually be a bite-the-bullet scenario.

Already made my festive period plans - going to drive up to Portobello Road next week for a wonder round Honest Jon's, Rough Trade, Peoples Sound and a few others, then on my birthday (NYE) either drive to Brighton or train to Brixton then Soho.
Speaking of wants, might as well throw this one out there if anyone fancies lending a hand:
Been spending the past couple mornings cataloging my vinyl collection on discogs, which you can (I think) view here. I'll be doing my 7"s this afternoon, and then I'll be done for now. As far as 10"s and 12"s, my collection has a minimum value of $2164, a median value of $3281, and a maximum value of $5630, across 209 releases. The most interesting thing to me is how highly valued all of the 2012 Thrill Jockey reissues are, as well as the relatively recent Massive Attack and Talk Talk reissues.
I think a wishlist would be too hard for me to come up with in these early stages; it's far too large. If anyone does come across any of the Jazz Composer's Orchestra original pressings (Communication, Escalator Over the Hill, Relativity Suite, Numatik Swing Band, The Gardens of Harlem, Echoes of Prayer, For Players Only) for a competitive price, pick them up and we can work out a deal.
As of now I have 44/100 of the albums on the current iteration of my chart, but much of what's on my chart is CD only.

Link to my collection's via the WWW button below. Only catalogued LPs as most of my 7"s and 12"s are sitting in a box waiting to be sold - I've got a list of stuff I'm selling via that link below too, so if there's something that takes your fancy drop me a line, not that it's to everyone's taste (and partly why I'm shifting it). The valuation feature's really interesting - I've got a chart of my most collectible stuff (can't be arsed to link it, sure you'll find it if you want to take a look), although in truth I doubt I'd sell the vast majority (bar a Sympathy For The industry press of the White Stripes' debut). That said, I'm wondering when to start thinking about insuring it separately... It's a nice heirloom/nest egg for my sprog at the very least. _________________ 'Reggae' & t'ing Folk 'n Stuff SHAMELESS RECORD DEALER PLUG
Found out recently that I own the Indica version of this, and that there's an accompanying Hasheeshian version, which I now also want.

Oh wow I had no idea they had 3 different versions of the remaster. I just saw the picture disc at a local store and decided it was going to be my xmas gift to me. I doubt I'd ever even try and get all 3, but I do like the look of those ones (I think I like Indica more).
Sometime ago I bought The Velvet Underground and Nico on vinyl for $1. I think it was so cheap because the album cover is gone, it's just one of those blank generic ones. That's going to bring down the value a lot but I was glad to pick up a good album for that cheap.
Now here's where it gets weird.
I was finally doing my deadformat (I'll link here when it's done) and trying to figure out a lot of pressing info for the first time. So I got to Velvet Underground and I was shocked at how many represses there were. I was kind of freaked out as there is no date anywhere on the vinyl, so it would be even harder to figure out the press. Except for one thing - on the label, V6/5008. Googling that shows exactly what you'd expect, but all as V6-5008. So I started trying to find V6/5008.
So far as I can tell (and I'm posting this here so someone can bring me back to earth), the only press that shows V6/5008 on the label instead of V6-5008 is the first press. So I freaked out a little bit and I've come here because if anyone knows anything about this, it'd be y'all. Any clue if my research holds up at all? Any idea what it could be worth without the original jacket? _________________
