1950's 2/10 I'm not really a fan of jazz (I say this to my shame), but I did like the Elvis and Little Richard albums. 'Chirping Crickets' by Buddy Holly and the, was the best near miss (i.e., in 11-20)
1960's 7/10 The top 10 here would be more interesting without the Beatles and Dylan (but I can't disagree with the Beatles albums. I love most of them.) Best near miss: Led Zeppelin II
1970''s 7/10 I voted for this one because the ones in this that I like are among my favorites, with three of these top tens in my own top twenty. Best near miss: Queen's A Night at the Opera.
1980's 3/10. I love the music of the 80's, but not this top ten list. Best near miss: Graceland, by Paul Simon
1990's 3/10. I don't love the music of the 90's. I don't understand the hate for Oasis, the inclusion of that album saves this list. Best near misses: Agaetis Byrjun by Sigur Ros, and Achtung Baby by U2
2000's 2/10. I've had to really dig to find albums that I've liked from this decade. On this list, it's Funeral and Yoshimi and that's it. Best near miss was Fleet Foxes. American Idiot (my favorite from the decade) was #22, so it didn't even qualify as a near miss.
2010's 1/10. It takes time to separate truly good stuff from stuff that just has good marketing. So I can't really say my favorites are classics, because who knows what people are going to say about these records in 20 years? So, I've just picked albums that I've like, but they're usually nowhere near agreeing with BEA's ranking. One exception, I really liked Reflektor, it's my favorite of 2013. Best near miss was Daft Punk's Random Access Memories.

For the record: Top 10 from the 60's, minus the Beatles and Bob Dylan:

1. The Velvet Underground and Nico
2. The Beach Boys Pet Sounds
3. The Doors
4. The Jimi Hendrix Experience are You Experienced?
5. Led Zeppelin II
6. King Crimson In The Court Of The Crimson King
7. The Rolling Stones Let It Bleed
8. Van Morrison Astral Weeks
9. Led Zeppelin
10. Love Forever Changes

This list, I'd give 5/10.

hahaha... Rubber Soul?

I agree with the previous comments that a couple rockers in the 50s made alright albums. Ray Charles, Little Richard, Elvis' debut, Johnny Cash's debut all were actually pretty top albums in my book.

Here's my 50's list. My top 20 are 85 and above records... but top 10 are 90 and above.

Everything rock related after that... well is pretty mediocre at best.

80s. two bad albums but apart from that it's in another ball park to the others. 50s is good too, p consistent. the rest have some major flaws for sure
