I wasn't sure whether to make this a post in Random Chat or its own topic but following the expert advice of CubaZed I opted for the latter.
Basically today marks the 5th anniversary of my joining BEA. I'm not going to go into some long spiel about how BEA changed me as a person because frankly it hasn't. But I did meet a lot of cool people through it (and find a lot of cool music through it but that's secondary here). So I figured I'd drop a few shoutouts.
Jack - My favourite amoral, hedonistic scumbag (we all need one in our lives.). Co-founder of BEA Skype with me, which I feel is honestly one of the most significant events in BEA history (and thus establishes my right to make such a big deal out of this :V). Although you have been cruelly exiled, you live on in my heart and drunk messages <3.
Saoirse - My fellow brother in arms on the Kitty barricades, I eagerly await the day we can both bask in the glory of Miami Garden Club and send it straight to #1. It'll be quite an... accomplishment.
Applerill - I absolutely love your ability for analysis, seeing the dizzying heights to which you can elevate even something so simple as Paul Blart Mall Cop is like watching a master at work. A pure delight to be around.
Defago - The only noteworthy thing to ever come out of Peru.
Squishypuffdave - Creator of some of the best content on BEA, always fascinating to see what you come out with.
Jhereko - My first ever interaction with another BEA user was when you had a go at me for disliking Hyperballad. You were right.
Geevydallas - Not even sure where to begin, genuinely just one of the most loveable personalities on here. Gonna have to drag you across the Irish Sea for a meetup sometime, you magical man #TruScan.
Dividesbyzero - Lovely, funny bloke - wouldn't advise a career as a Phil Lynott impersonator any time soon though.
Keith - The most brutal shitposter BEA ever really had (especially the uu thing... pure foul) which is something I can absolutely respect. You've all mellowed out now though but then haven't we all?
Skinny - Simply one of the best people on here, astounding taste, great musician, and a brilliant writer. Was pure gutted you couldn't make Manchtober but alas, there is always next time!
Sp4cetiger - Twas a wonderful presence. Shame senility forced him to delete.
Norman Bates - What an odd entry (jk, you're brill)
Antonio - Can't remember last time I saw you on here but you have an odd way of seeing the world which is rather endearing.
Gowi! - Initially you were the personal equivalent of nails on chalkboard to me but really it was just conflicting ways of viewing forums. Once I got to know you you're really quite a loveable grump.
Goodsir - It's been wonderful watching you blossom into a young Funnyman. I wish you all the best on your journey there.
(And when you get there? Well then boy, take me to the stars...
HazeyTwilight - I remember our first time interacting was beefing with each other in Comment On Other Users. Thankfully, we get along far better now :V (but please dont try rapping again)
Stone - Another lovely presence, and an endless source of Sage Wisdom And Insight, as highlighted earlier. Just one of the most goodhearted people on here.
SuedeSwede - one of the best people I've ever met. Priveleged to have you in my life, truly.
Kiki - Literally one of the most important members BEA ever had, created some of BEA's most legendary posts and is also an utter sweetheart in person. I know you're not reading this but regardless CUM2CUMBRIAINSUMMER.
Borve - Oh what could words possibly convey? What insignificant value they hold when compared to dazzling reality! You are as shelter in the storm, as grain in a famine to me! Truly when the Gods apportioned perfection, sprinkling some in those rare excellent individuals, in the Alexanders of history, like herbs onto a dish - oh my Everything, truly they gave you a heavy dose!
BrandonMeow - In the last Comment On Other Users I called you my fav under 16 so let me change that now to read my joint fav under 18.
CellarDoor - A RANK TRAITOR, THIS ALONE IS TOO MANY WORDS WASTED ON HIM.
MancSoulSister - Literally my auntie.
NoWaxJim - Another one I was gutted to not meet, just seems like the sort of person I'd get along with dead well.
Precedent - An enigmatic presence truly...
19Loveless91 - I'm not entirely what to say as we don't talk too much now but I'd be damned if I wan't including an early BEA Skype regular such as yourself.
Satie - Never did like when he went off the rails on music but he gave the politics section a well needed shot of life for a time.
Albummaster - How could I not? Thanks for everything, big man.
There's a number who deserve at least an honorary mention here (Revolver, Necharsian, EyeZayZay, PTaylor1989, HigherThanTheSun, JMan, GARY, RFNaples) and anyone not mentioned you're probably alright anyhow (and if I don't think you are I'm sure I've made it clear at some point. Out of all the online communities I've been involved with BEA has truly been the most rewarding. Here's to another five y'all.
Now all you's do yourself a favour and listen to some Coltrane in my honour, why don't ya ?

Happy anniversary Luke. Gutted we didn't meet too - Manc would have been a blast. Kiki and me were chatting about a Summer Solstice meet at Stonehenge - if it happens we'll let you know. If you and Tom decide to venture down to London at some point drop me a line... Although seeing as work's taking me to Notts in a couple of weeks who knows when I might beat a path to Yorkshire or Cumbria before then... _________________ 'Reggae' & t'ing

Congratulations on the 5 year mark with BEA. Also, I am now listening to a John Coltrane album for the very first time.
