I actually found one that actually did worse than Arrested Development. He had a number one US album, but NEVER had another album that even charted AT ALL.

See, this is wrong for me, because Clash S/T is equally as 'classic' - in fact it sits nicely alongside NMTB and DDD as first wave UK punk totems.
But yes - I think 99% of Beach Boys fans would concur that Pet Sounds is unquestionably their only 'classic' LP, especially as Smile (the only record that could possibly rival it in terms of content) was never officially released/finished, bar the sessions. |
That's crazy about London Calling being considered the only classic from The Clash. For as long as I can remember, Give em Enough Rope, and The Clash have always been considered classics. |
I suppose you are right, provided many people still listen to those two lps regularly
