Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 72.3/100, a mean average of 71.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 72.3/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.5.

Refreshingly positive hip hop and some beautiful music including Mr. Wendel, Tennessee, People Everyday and a few others. (Edited)

It was really nice to hear this when it came out...no bitches, bangin', money, ballin'...none of that.
Different from a lot of hip hop acts, this is an actual band with several musicians and vocalists, and as a result the album has a lot of interesting musical ideas with minimal samples. The lead singer and songwriter, known as Speech, is also the producer and he has gathered these ideas into a very musically cohesive sounding album, which to me sounds good all the way through. Even when they get more experimental on "Children Play With Earth" the result is quite intriguing. A well rounded and enjoyable album. (Edited)

Pretty much agree with everyone here. The good songs are REALLY GOOD, the other ones fall a bit short. The best songs are Tennessee, People Everyday, and Mr. Wendal. Listen to the People Everyday Metamorphosis Mix, it's a bit fresher than the original (since a lot of people are complaining about it being dated).

Ok album. Best 10 songs average is 76,3/100 and the album can get ok 75/100. Not exactly my taste. Best songs are "Mr. Wendal" and "Tennessee" both ok. All other songs ok or below-average.
Genre: Southern Hip Hop, Conscious Hip Hop
