BC, Spotify and SC are all really tight. |
Elaborate. I just started a trail subscription of their Hi Fi service since I can no longer afford to buy albums. It sounds really good. Playing Bert Jansch's debut as my first album. And it sounds pretty good.
Anyone else have any opinions on Tidal? Has anyone else checked it out. I thought I was a spotify loyalist, but I'm digging the embedded all music reviews and the sound.

First Deezer vote!
It's the one I use and have a subscription for..
Mainly because it worked with adBlocker filtering the ads before I had a subscription ๐ The Spotify ads drove me nuts.. (And I also got put off because at the start you needed Facebook account for signing in..)
No King Crimson, Tool or Fishmans on Deezer sadly (or very little), but still a very extensive catalog. _________________ My charts page

I canceled my account, and about a year later, a charge from Tidal showed up. I called them up, and they apologized, giving me a new free trial. Problem is, it wasn't an accident. They lost a bunch of customers, and this was their marketing campaign to get them back - steal from them and then give them free memberships. It was scummy.

etc.
They've also been sued by Prince's label for illegally streaming his music
and for generally failing to pay artists:

For sheer accessibility, Apple, no question. I like Spotify, and I use Bandcamp as an artist, and as someone who just wants to dive for music no one else is talking about. Still, I use Apple way more often. I can download any album at any time. And as a student, it's only $5 a month. Totally worth it.
Also, Apple has most of Spacemen 3, while Spotify and Bandcamp have virtually none.
Soundcloud is to music streaming what Plenty of Fish is to dating sites, in the worst way possible. _________________ Inversion Verses

I'll put in a case for YouTube - I've discovered so much great (typically obscure) Japanese and other music via YouTube recommendations in the last year. Unfortunately it has hit my bank balance hard (via Discogs) since I have a predilection for owning physical copies of albums.
I'm not signed up to a streaming service in large part because I can use YouTube to verify whether I want to buy something or not. _________________ http://distranscontinuum.blogspot.co.uk/

I don't think DEEZER is in America yet? Last I looked into it, it wasn't at least.

Thanks - had been a while (I thought it was end of 2014 when I last checked... I only know that cause when I released music through musickickup, they said it would release on DEEZER and I was like... hmmm... I like Weezer, what's this DEEZER.
Good to know. I'll have to see if it is better priced than tidal since $19.99 for a monthly streaming service seems a bit ridiculous.
