It's a limited genre, which is why it seems like it often has trouble being defined. Once you're done with Massive Attack, Portishead, Tricky and Goldfrapp (probably in that order) then you're either reaching out to things that sound a bit like them or you're going down a rabbit hole that gets more and more niche by the minute.
Personally I feel like it really needs a british geeza rapping somewhere there in the mix. If it aint bristol-born'an'bred then it aint trip hop, but maybe that's just me. |

Completely agree.
I've liked Trip-Hop for years, so it is nice to have a discussion(?) about it every now and again. I think I still listen to Morcheeba the most.
