Their early albums were always patchy, for me, but had that spark of genius, that โLightning in a bottleโ chemistry (moreso in the performances than in the songwriting). From Sammy Hagar on, they probably made more consistent records, but lost that spark of genius, for me (althoogh, I quite like 5150).
What I'm gleaming from this thread is that nearly every artist tanks and disappoints... or dies early.
Yeah, everyone has duds. It's all good. If something's not amazing from an artist who previously released something amazing, whatever. Best to keep expectations at 0, no matter what. Never heard anything bad enough to make me jump out a window though, pause button is usually closer. Or a door. _________________ Doubles & Conch
I listened to this one time because someone said i couldn't get through the whole thing i did but wish i hadn't. it is a challenge you don't want to win. worst music ever if you can call this trash music
...and then, how long do you hold out hope for another good album
Great question.
It's not great, but for example, I actually thought a Bigger Bang by the Rolling Stones in 2005 wasn't too bad... it was an enjoyable listen at least. Nothing amazing, but worth a listen.
Sometimes (not always) the worst effort by a great artist is still better than the best effort of a mediocre artist.
