I don't know....somehow Quelle Chris I liked and disliked at the same time, if that's possible, and for Circuit Des Youx I was not in the best mood when I listened to it, and driving on a straight road for 40 minutes, and you know - music, set, setting - so I am giving the benefit of doubt to Circuit Des Yeux witn my vote and might try again sometime.

God. It took FOREVER for this album to click with me. Like longer than Captain Beefheart's Trout mask Replica. I'm not kidding! Anyways, it finally started paying off this morning & truly this album is a beaut. It's just glacial. But once the details start emerging from heretofore seemingly monotonous terrain. Once you see the mountains that you had missed. And the brooks and nettles.Theirreally is a hidden little world built into this disc. It just takes a while to be able to see it. Like one of those pictures you have to stare at. And stare at. And stare. and then... Whoah! You've flipped.
That said! That Quelle album is one of the more interesting and beguiling hip hop abums I've ever heard. At times I think it's brilliant. At others, i find it annoying. The one sure thing - it's different and begs repeated visits which I will do for the next week of this tourney.
Definitely two killer albums worthy of my 2017 charts.

They're both good albums that feel relatively equal in quality. A tough choice. However, the Quelle Chris record was more fun to listen to, so I'm going with that one. _________________ Join us in the canon game / Add me on RYM
