Well that was cool listening to a monster themed album on Halloween itself. Although to be honest musically I didn't get as much of a horror monster vibe from it that I expected from the cover art apart from some of the intros and outros. It was a solid surf rock instrumental album but I get the impression I would enjoy this much more in a live setting with them in costumes and partying and having a fun time.
Man, you guys are really good at recommending stuff I like. I never knew I had a thing for ambient instrumental post-rock, but here we are! Really great album that I'll have to revisit again and go deeper into Grails back discography.

This is a definite good/great album. Quite quirky, varied and dancy record. My only complaint for this album is that compared to albums like Velocity Design Comfort or The Age of Adz, this isn't mindblowing or speaks on a personal level at the time being. But for now, I enjoyed it.
My pick:I'll throw in a album I need to listen to though haven't finish it. Wanted to see how another person reacts to it. Boredoms 1999 album Vision Creation Newsun
A very polished, very dated collection of rhodes- and sax-heavy deep house and smooth, downtempo trip-hop that would sound perfectly at home on one of those old Buddha Bar/Buddha Beats compilations (anybody remember those? Man, that was a strange time, huh?). A lot of big, unsubtle drum sounds are still somehow tastefully applied, along with some R'n'B-adjacent walking basslines, and the whole thing is perfectly pleasant and warm, if exceptionally inoffensive. There are snippets of film quotes scattered a little too freely throughout, many of which suggest a painful lack of self-awareness (unless, of course, they've been applied with tongue firmly in cheek), but they give the album a sense of personality that it might otherwise be lacking. I was really hoping that this would turn out to be an undiscovered gem - as it turns out, it's simply a very of its era, forgettable, second-rate Larry Heard (during his silky, less inspired nu jazz phase) rip-off. Of course, it would still sound fantastic soundtracking cocktails on an island in the Balearics, so there's that.

I really enjoyed each song but felt it was rather in cohesive. Then i found out it was a compilation of rarities etc. Explained that quirk. Very enjoyable and i will have to check out more of their catalog. A very enjoyable listen love the atmosphere the songs created.
This was wonderful. From front to back you get these early electronic albums that just speaks to my soul. Might get a 100 later on but as of now it's a 95. Glad to grow my 80's listening even it is by a little bit.
Very beautiful and clearly underappreciated globally based on the number of ratings here and on RYM. My first time hearing anything classified as afoxé and now I want to check out more in the genre. But given my inexperience I don't have much to say about it now. Thank you for this rec. 4/5.

Forgot to type for this but yeah this was an excellent. Not the best for 2018 but this was an entertaining ride. Thanks to getting another 2018 album under my belt.

Not done with this album but this is some wonderful stuff so far.
Not for me i guess it was not the worst thing i have ever ever heard 5/10 maybe i might be generous at that. really just not anything i found interesting honestly it really bored me. i truly wish it di not and do not be offended please just wasn't something i ever need to hear again.
