I tend to agree with the 'less is more' sentiment and think just about every album would be best at 40-45 minutes. However, many of my favorite albums are doubles so what do I know...

That said, there are a lot of b-sides and/or non-album singles released I would have loved to see on a proper album:

Led Zeppelin - III - Hey, Hey What Can I Do?
Rolling Stones - Beggar's Banquet - Jumpin' Jack Flash
Rolling Stones - Let It Bleed - Honk Tonk Women (in place of the acoustic version)
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Blood Sugar Sex Magic - Soul to Squeeze
Pearl Jam - Ten - Yellow Ledbetter and State of Love and Trust
Rage Against The Machine - The Battle of Los Angeles - No Shelter

Definitely agree with these two.

"Genetic" by Sonic Youth totally should've made it onto Dirty, but Butch Vig told them to put a shitty one minute cover song on there instead... Literally one of the worst decisions in tracklistings ever.

if "Down by the Seaside" replaced "Misty Mountain Hop" on Led Zeppelin IV, I might even consider it their best.

"Staircase" or "The Butcher" totally could've made it onto The King of Limbs.

"Stephanie Says" could've fit on The Velvet Underground's self titled album (3rd not 1st) somewhere.

Coming from a different genre, Drake has some really good non-album cuts I wish either made it on a record or were at least put up separately on streaming services. For example, in his Take Care era he had 3 really good promo tracks that I thought were going to be on the album when it came out but they never were. "Dreams Money Can Buy" is probably the most popular one, but there was also "Free Spirit" which had a good Rick Ross feature and "Club Paradise" which was a really good introspective track and my favorite of the three. He also had "Days in the East" come out during the Nothing Was the Same era that was also a really good introspective track with a haunting beat. All of these tracks are amongst my favorite songs by him, way better than studio tracks, but none are on streaming services. You can only download them from somewhere online or listen off YouTube.

I think Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields Forever should have been om Sgt Pepper as originally intended. It was a mistake to leave 2 such strong songs out. If they were worried about the running time they could have taken out Getting Better and Fixing A Hole which I could live without being on there.

I love Fixing A Hole, it's a pure McCartney melody. I wouldn't mind Strawberry Field in place of Within You Without You (both slow songs, so it wouldn't change the pace of the track order). Penny Lane is more difficult to insert.

PS : same applies to Pink Floyd's Piper at The Gates of Dawn with Arnold Lane and See Emily Plays not included

I always thought Rain would of been an excellent inclusion on Revolver.

Anybody knows the the 50th anniversary of VGPS by The Kinks is out?

"Mr. Songbird" and "Days" should totally have been on VGPS, as well as "Wonderboy" on Something Else, and a few others. It's a testament to just how great a songwriter Ray was that there are so many great Kinks songs that just got left off of albums

Yes those two most definitely. Also State of Love And Trust and Breath are incredible early tracks, they could've also been on Ten. Also Easy should've been on Faith No More's Angel Dust. I have a version where that is a closing track after Midnight Cowboy and it's so good. You have an incredible and weird album and after the last track here comes the biggest hit and pop song the band's ever recorded lol. A kick in the face of purists. And it's a great song.

Edit: I've also remembered America, which was omitted from Fragile, How Soon Is Now which isn't on every version of Meat Is Murder and This Charming Man which isn't on every version of The Smiths.
