Yeah the Harlem Gospel Travelers is just a great, rousing if yes gospel-standard performance, while I enjoy some of the Sophie songs that particular one just gnaws on me and not in a good way (and please, I beg of you don't link me to another pretentous wankpiece about how all her music is brilliant satire that's TRYING to sound grating, I've gone through enough of them)

Quite admire SOPHIE ("BIPP" was a great track) but the album and this track did nothing for me. Going to stick by my choice. |
Bipp's a better track for sure, but sorry Jim, still went with Ponyboy. We have a track here that sounds like it's from 1967, and another from 2067. I'm digging He's On Time, nothing against it, but Ponyboy's one of 2018's most exciting highlights for me. It's pop as it's never been before.

Yeah but I think it's a t rack that either needed to be cut in half or expanded out to 17 minutes, either needing a sense of fast-on-repeat mystery or clutching the listener through an endless loop of madness, feels kinda pointless as a standard three-and-a-half-minute pop track if it ends exactly where you expect it to.

I actually largely agree with this take, even if I feel your 'Ponyboy' praise is a little hyperbolic. But I still prefer the other track. 'Ponyboy' grates, despite its extremely admirable desire to push things forward. Vote to 'He's On Time', albeit with a heavy heart that I'm kinda going against my own principles about pop music in doing so. _________________ 2021 in full effect. Come drop me some recs. i have always felt sophie's qualities are a bit overstated and here i agree with BEAs consensus that he's on time is better than ponyboy
