So while the 2019 Dream Theater has proven to be quite excellent, and easily their best in some time, the same can't be said for the 2019 Within Temptation release
which seems trite and uninspired, especially relative to their last few releases.
ah man spotify notified me burial released a new album. couldn't hit play fast enough. couldn't hit stop fast enough either. no, it's definitely not burial. not the real one. it's kind of surprising spotify can't keep artists with different names separated. i realize that the label is supposed to straighten that out, but you have to register all these licenses to put your music on spotify anyway. you'd expect them to notice when the same name has a different id and whatnot. whatever.
anyway, disappointed. _________________ follow me on the bandcamp.
Painfully too short to add to BEA's database (19min), Nyege Nyege's released an extremely strong EP by Nihiloxica, whose self-titled is definitely one of the best albums to come out of Africa this decade. Worth checking out.
And they also have this coming out next week:
Uingizaji Hewa by Duke. Only one preview track's been released, but if the album follows suit, it'll be a wacky flang-coated fast-paced dancehall record. Not sold on the sound yet, lacks bass, but we'll see how it turns out. _________________ Doubles & Conch

With regards the top one: it has four tracks and is therefore fine (I think). _________________ 2021 in full effect. Come drop me some recs. Y'all know what I like.
