I do believe this is a great record. Hell maybe with some more time, I could see this an excellent record. The thing that prevents me from adoring this album, would probably be how not all the tracks are these sweeping off your feet songs. Some do go into an acoustic direction. And while I do find them pleasant, can be a bit boring for me personally. Grade wise:80 but could be an 85 with future listens.

Cool sophisti-pop EP with excellent production. Extremely 80s. Turns out Virginia Astley's fingerprints were all over this one as well. The best song is an Aretha Franklin cover, while the originals are good but not great. 3.5/5.

I've been a fan of Hendrix for a long time now but I've never gotten around to this album. With Castles Made Of Sand, If Six Was Nine, and Little Wing I expected a great album and I wasn't disappointed. Nearly all of the other album tracks were great as well. As of now after one listen I rate this as better than Electric Ladyland, but not quite was good as Are You Experienced. 8.5/10, 8/18 for 1967, & 20/83 for the 60s.
Baystate: I've only heard two of those, and I really liked Hop Along.

In The Nightside Eclipse by Emperor
It reminds me of the last time I vomited. I think I sounded just like this. hahaha... ok kidding aside, I really did dig the synthesizer "orchestrations" that accompanied the MEHTUL. And the music did paint a landscape similar to the album art. And for the first time since Burzum where I felt the vocals actually met the music. Again I don't mind the vocal style if it isn't forced/seems a bit more natural. If I were to say it never felt that way would be untrue, but it often felt like it matched emotionally and logically. 75.

Honestly, this is close to a 100. Like I want another listen for this album, that's how good this is. Even though I gave a 95, this is on the edge of 100. Could see this album making a comeback in the future. Foreshadowing to a project I will do in the near future.

You might hate me Seth since I'm not the biggest fan of this album, but I suggest Selected Ambient Works Vol II. It is a long one though.

I'm glad I had to listen to this again. It has grown on me in every regard, especially vocally and lyrically. Tracks 2 & 3, about Buddy Bolden and Jackson C. Frank, are especially strong. It earned a boost in rating even as my scoring system has gotten harsher, and jumped up 23 places on my 2015 chart. 71.0/100 (3.5/5).

I could only find several tracks for Rappin' Ron's "Bad N Fluenz", so I chose to do Kilo G "The Bloody City", because I have already heard many of his New Orleans contemporaries. He's also already been on some of the other Cash Money albums that I've listened to.
Beats are pretty decent, and the whole album is pretty good; it features Pimp C and Bun B, so that's cool, but the first song on the album "Pop'em" has an unintentionally hilarious chorus and backing vocal.
Mr. Ivan appears on the final track, which is probably the best on the album, and delivers a verse that was better than most of what was on his own album.
Baystate, I think that Everything But The Girl is probably up your alley.

Oh wow! This is a really comfy album. Stylistically it reminds me of La Varieté by Weekend (1981), but with better execution. Love the vocals, the soundscapes, the vibe. 4/5.

Honestly if the album was full of bops like Lost In Moments, it would be a 100. But don't let that fool you, this is one of those jaw dropping records that might not be your absolute favorite of the year but will make you rethink your 2000 list.
Grade:90 maybe a 95 in the future.

Tight Polish post-punk album with a lot of stylistic diversity. Tracks 2-4 don't work for me, but I'm a fan of the rest. A nice finish to the Women's History Month listening project. 3.5/5.
