There's everything here: from almost techno beats and rhythms to violins and saxophones to ambient to art rock. And it's all done so well, there's not a bad song. But it's even better when you look at the context: a black metal outsiders doing this is not what anyone expected, but what everyone loved. Except black metal fans, but they don't like anything so no harm done

Quality as fuck, a huge departure from their Black Metal roots but this is some damn good ambient electronic, my favorite of theirs other than Bergtatt.

Ulver sheds their black metal beginnings and goes full on sort of a synthesis between electronic and art rock - and its absolutely brilliant.

After only listen to Nattens Madrigal I got really surprised about the great electronic (black metal?) album those guys made. Worth to check it out!
