Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 1% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 83.5/100, a mean average of 82.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 83.6/100. The standard deviation for this album is 13.2.

Little Wing is one of the best songs ever made, definately top 5 imo. The album holds up great, but it's still the worst out of the 3 Hendrix albums. That isn't a bad achievement though. Castles made of Sand and Bold as Love are also amazing
I find I more like to watch Hendrix than listen to the albums as I struggle to connect with them. I don't enjoy this as much as the great stuff on Electric Ladyland (but I find this album more consistent) but this album doesn't reach the heights or consistency of Are You Experienced
For some unknown reasons, I considerate this album definitely 2 or 3 steps down respect the 1st and Electric Ladyland; however, we are still talking about a Jimi Hendrix album...
This Hendrix's album is overlooked by many prople, but there are a lot of hidden gems in the tracklist.
I actually think this is Hendrix's best material, and this album is where he seems "free" in a sense.
Jimi being Jimi. (like a knew him)
A great follow-up to Are You Experienced. "Little Wing", "Castles Made of Sand", and the title track are the best tracks here for me. This album does everything that a successful sophomore album should. It sounds new, and is a progression from work he produced before.
Some of my all-time favorite tracks are scattered throughout this album.
A pretty good Jimi record! Still, out of the three albums released in his lifetime, it is my least favorite. My favourite track is definitely 'Little Wing'! One of the greatest guitar intro riffs ever in my opinion.
That psychedelic guitar, wow! So laid back and yet so full of energy, this was Hendrix. 'Wait Up Until Tomorrow' is a personal favourite.
