Saw Al Johnson & Mark Shippy’s band Snailboy (pre-Shorty) open for the Jesus Lizard... in a church basement, of all places, late-1990. Small crowd but an outstanding show! Those guys were a few years ahead of me attending Northern Illinois University. Todd Rittman (US Maple guitarist) I noticed was a truly talented fine artist. Fun memories 😁
If you weren't already the coolest person on this site, then that seals it! 😁 The mental image of that is hilarious. I'm imagining him singing "Karpis" in the basement of a church.
