I've been researching how to improve the average rating algorithm and found an interesting article here on IMDb:

It sounds a very familiar story 😉 , and pretty much sums up what BEA needs to do as well.

Unless the various filters are made public the ratings might be viewed as manipulated and inaccurate.

I think this is a great idea and definitely a good direction to want to head in. People who manipulate their own votes on IMDb get criticized a lot more often than IMDb for their methods themselves. and for good reason.
