RoundTheBendI miss the comfort in being sadProfile Ground Control
As I thought about this it's interesting that certain movements in music I care about more than the artists themselves and then certain artists I care way more about than the movements/style/era, etc.
If I were to list out my favorite artists from my heart it'd probably go something like this (and I guess I'm breaking the rules by including classical music, but I'll put it at the end):
And as badseed stated, I could probably change the order after top 10-20 real easy and almost are all weighted the same/there's possibly as many as 20 other artists who could be replaced with others not on the list.
Artists who I have had a near molecular connection with:
1) Paul Simon/Simon & Garfunkel
2) U2 (Pre-2002)
3) The Beatles/John Lennon/Paul McCartney/George Harrison
4) R.E.M.
5) Beck
6) Red Hot Chili Peppers (especially with Frusciante)
7) Radiohead
8) Sly and the Family Stone
9) The Rolling Stones
10) Nirvana
11) The Doors
12) The Velvet Underground/Lou Reed
13) Aretha Franklin
14) Billie Holiday
15) Glenn Miller
16) The Smashing Pumpkins
17) Louis Armstrong
18) Little Richard
19) Ray Charles
20) Miles Davis
21) Arcade Fire
22) Johnny Cash
23) Elvis Presley
24) Chuck Berry
25) The Kingston Trio
26) Louis Prima
27) Jimi Hendrix
28) Bob Dylan
29) Donovan
30) The Beach Boys
31) Pink Floyd
32) Neil Young/Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
33) Van Morrison
34) Rage Against the Machine
35) LCD Soundsystem
36) Queens of the Stone Age
37) Foo Fighters
38) Modest Mouse
39) The Postal Service
Those I love to listen to but maybe don't have such an emotional attachment to (minus the classical, I'd move that up above if I would weight that the same/wasn't purposely putting at bottom to play the game nice)
40) Wyclef Jean/Lauren Hill/Fugees
41) OutKast
42) Pixies
43) Elbow
45) Weezer
46) Sigur Rรณs
47) Violent Femmes
48) Creedence Clearwater Revival
49)The Black Keys
50) Led Zeppelin
51) Black Sabbath
52) Allman Brothers Band
53) Santana
54) Phish
55) Grateful Dead
56) Marvin Gaye
57) Parliament
58) The Cure
59) The Clash
60) Talking Heads
61) Metallica
62) Depeche Mode
63) Kraftwerk
64) Muse
65) Jack White/The White Stripes
66) Thrice
67) King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard
68) Vampire Weekend
69) Kendrick Lamar
70) Steve Miller Band (especially their 60's material)
71) The Anniversary
72) Beastie Boys
73) Brian Eno
74) Buddy Holly
75) Cowboy Junkies
76) Eagles of Death Metal?
77) Pearl Jam/Eddie Vedder
78) James Brown
79) John Coltrane
80) Portishead/Massive Attack - trip hop scene, not really the artist themselves
81) Tom Waits
82) Otis Redding?
83) Public Enemy
84) Yo Yo Ma
85) Aaron Copland
86) Motown - I can't just list it all out, but really that whole scene is massive in my identity, but too many artists to list off/really a singles thing mostly (also as an aggregate, this would be top 10)
87) Roy Orbison
88) Herbert von Karajan
89) Leonard Bernstein
90) Green Day
91) Dr Dre/Snoop Dogg (I might actually just say 90's hip-hop which is likely cheating, but it's not just one artist, rather this whole feel going on in the 90s - late 80s/early 2000s - like with WarrenG, too - Gfunk? etc.
92) Father John Misty
93) Coldplay (Death and All His Friends still has a hold on me after all these years...)
94) Beethoven
95) Mozart
96) Mahler
97) Stravinsky
98) Tchaikovsky
99) Wagner
100) Shostakovich
Ok so I did this mathematical approach a while ago and I think I agree with it 60-80% pending no my mood (I'll second badseed that after about top 15-20 for me it's probably all about the same maybe?)

If they refuse to order it, maybe give each artist 50.5 points? That'd be the same total for their list distributed evenly for each artist. _________________ "Those are you've got some nice shoulders, I'd like to put my hands around them."
