You seriously need to give a listen to some quality blackgaze or stuff like The Angelic Process and Boris if you dig the idea of shoegazy and noisy metal.
Yeah seconded - especially Boris. Jesu, Alcest, Cold Body Radiation and Strawberry Hospital also fit. Some are really into Deafheaven, and woods of desolation - I am not.
I remember when DJโing an โeast coast swingโ night at the dance studio I went to, I put on the surf rock part of โXero Toleranceโ for the group of senior citizens to dance to. It went about as well as youโd expect.
