Yeah, personally I've always thought DG observed the cutting edge and shifted their sound rapidly to approach it. Machine Girl gets called a DG clone but I don't think Zach and Co really made a work that sounded in that same world until after WlfGrl, similarly I wouldn't be surprised if they were listening to spaceghostpurpp's stuff in studio for YOTS.

I find an argument like "uh, Dalek did it" like they're a multi-platinum household name that 100s of artists have ripped off is a dumb argument. You could pick a worse influence than them to base your musical sound off of. (Although, to be honest, I feel that Death Grips has a more unique sound than what people seem to be giving them credit for in this thread.) Besides MC Ride has also been rappinng in a more or less "experimental" fashion since the late 90s. I know cause I had to listen to his shitty album a few weeks ago. 😜
