Alchemical Warfare by Dread Sovereign

Best metal so far. For anyone interested in doom, especially the more traditional, epic style.

Edit: forgot to mention that Nemtheanga (from Primordial) is on vocals

Looks very tempting for my next AOTW!. Other past releases I'm considering are Steve Earle, Viagra Boys, and Shame. ๐Ÿค”

First thing I've really enjoyed this year is this. Sludgey doom and bluesy stoner rock collide, with growling vocal incantations. Nothing revolutionary, but scratches an itch.

Joe & Benny by Benny Soliven x Joe Maynor

a few too many profoundly unsexy sex raps, but when it's on this is some really solid hyphy-adjacent bay shit. killer Drakeo helps too. inconsistent but at a smooth 25 min worth checking out imo for the highlights at least. or maybe it sucks and I just miss the bay who knows

Perpetual Chaos by Nervosa
This just dropped today (thrash metal if it wasn't clear from the album art lol). Nervosa went through a lineup change since their last album but this one doesn't disappoint. I think I prefer the old singer/grunter but I also think the new drummer is a bit more technical which is what really helps thrash metal thrash.

Sounds cool, never heard of them. Will give it a shot. Nice to see a sudden resurgence of metal on BEA by people not called Gowi heh.

Also new Asphyx is apparently great, but I haven't heard it yet.

Yeah I'm trying to work in more metal into my rotation. Might check out that Dutch album too but I'm a little thrashed out for today.

Nervosa is an all-female Brazilian thrash metal group who have been around for a while, though I only heard of them last year when I was researching women in male-dominated genres (they were actually the only all-female metal group I found, so if anyone has any suggestions for more women in metal, feel free to make suggestions or dm me). When I saw they were releasing a new album, I had to pounce on it.

Cool! This was just reviewed by bangerTv too here ...

From this BangerTv video and you're write-up, I'm actually curious what they used to sound out so I'm checking out their debut ...

Victim Of Yourself by Nervosa
