Jours De Grève by Emmanuelle Parrenin & Detlef Weinrich

Is fantastic, or at least half of it.

Also new Asphyx is apparently great, but I haven't heard it yet.

3NE by Niqolah SEEVA

released today, niqolah seeva takes fusion to a whole other level, building his own instrument, the guit°arabia, itself a fusion of a quarter-tone guitar and an electric oud. the music itself is a fabulous intersection of traditional music (see: oud) with more modern rock (see: guitar). he's a pretty unique singer as well, with plenty of melisma to match the charisma.

Not shooting down the rec (it's going in my queue), but I think this came out a couple months ago (Oct 2020).

My 2021 listening has been somewhat light, but I like these so far:

Rainbow De Nuit by David Fenech & Klimperei

(Very folksy guitar stuff)

Urban Driftwood by Yasmin Williams

(More classical-ish guitar stuff, lap style)

Leap Second by M. Caye Castagnetto

(the folk equivalent of that skull in that painting that looks all bendy)

Nature Of Things by Subsonic Eye

(Twee) (Why the low rating BEA? 🙁 good stuff)

And the new Arca is solid, but it's really just... one track... a few times.
