10. thatโs how many weeks there has been in 2021. 8. Thatโs where Iโm at for my AOTW. Not too shabby actually, but time to get back on it. I have two slots to fill. Which makes me anxious. Makes it difficult to sleep at night. So thank God for coffee and apple pie. The kind you get at downhome, but beatnik, coffee shops off the interstate. One of the oneโs run by some old hippie and without Trump flags waving every which where. The kind that when you leave, youโre not just filled up with gas and food and pinetree air freshners (although I love those tacky things!) but a bit more of you. That youโve been heard. Acknowledged. That you connected just a bit to a random place at random point on your random road to somewhere. And thatโs whatโs good road tripping is all about!

Still haven't heard that Buck Meek album, might give it a try tomorrow morning. With a cup of "black as midnight on a moonless night" coffee in my hand, of course. _________________ Overall chart Fake overall chart

Greatest line EVER!!! ๐
Special Agent Dale Cooper is my favorite protagonist of all time! It's really not even close.
โHarry, Iโm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Donโt plan it, donโt wait for it, just let it happenโ
Sorry for ruining your thread by being completely off-topic, but I find it impossible to resist any Twin Peaks reference.
By the way, may I ask what did you make of season 3, I'd love to hear your (both Repo and LedZep and anyone else who's into it) thoughts on that one, it was a whole new ball game, really.
(If you think it's inappropriate to be discussed here, feel free to send me a PM)

I have actually applied this quote to my life! lol. Classic Cooper!
re: concerns of derailing. Have you read through this thread?! lol. This thread went off the rails a long time ago! I like it like that.
I consider Season 3 it's own thing. It has a very different feel and completely different setting. Very Lynch so vey good, but it's not really Twin Peaks!
I'm in the same boat. I know Letterboxd went crazy and a lot of people prefer it to the original 2 seasons, meanwhile I cannot even compare them. But it's very good, that much I know. _________________ Overall chart Fake overall chart
I donโt like Steven Tyler. I have no reason why. Just something about him irks me. Iโm judgmental prick, ok. But, they way he willed this album into existence earns my unending respect. Because this an incredible return to form (Draw The Line was a disappointment) despite some dicey circumstances with the band pretty much broken up at this point. For my money, the last great Aerosmith album. They return to their roots (see Romanelli's great recent post regarding their debut) somewhat with just some great hard-nosed blues. The guitar tone on "Chiquita" gives AC/DC a run for the money. Just classic Aerosmith throughout with a smashing Shangri-Las cover, "Remember (Walking in the Sand)," to boot. Consistent and great sounding guitar tone from Perry throughout. Just great, hard hitting 70s blues rock. Great to see one of the best and biggest hard rock bands of the 70s end on a high note.
Without question Aerosmith's essential albums are the trilogy of Get Your Wings, Toys In The Attic, and Rocks. But, if you want more, this and their Self-Titled debut are both Highly Recommended!
Cheesiest live album title ever? Yes! Quite possibly yes! The perfect encapsulation of both late 70s hard rock and UFO? Absofuckinglutely! You can't get more 70s than the double live LP of hard rock excess and this is one of the best. It goes toe to toe with the other classics of the period such as Kiss - Alive! and Thin Lizzy - Live and Dangerous. In a way, this the excess that the NWOBHM had to topple.
For many, this will be the sole UFO they ever purchase/download/stream (pick your decade). And that's not a bad call! It's a perfect introduction to these rock nโ roll lifers. A legendary set that's particularly sensual and full bodied. Michael Schenker's solos are just fantastic. And it's all taped in the Midwest where I now live which is pretty cool. As I've discussed before, I prefer their mid-70s run of Phenomenon, Force It and No Heavy Petting, BUT Strangers In The Night works as both a decent greatest hits package and a blistering live set. Highly Recommended!
