The original cover is garbage, but the remastered art is perfect

I like this cover a lot, it feels very William Schaff (the artist who did a lot of covers for Songs: Ohia, Okkervil River, and Godspeed).

Just remembered the Kraftwerk reissues as well. Very clean and stylistically consistent. I like the Trans-Europe Express and Man Machine covers in particular because a band that sounds so robotic should not have group photos on their album covers.

As far as reissues go, the Kraftwerk ones are phenomenal. Reminds me of the reprints of Vonnegut's novels.

In all honesty I'm not a fan of the original album artwork for Autobahn, Trans-Europa Express, or Die Mensch-Maschine either, but I feel like the new ones are a bit TOO minimal, so I don't know that they quite eclipse the originals. I always felt like Kraftwerk and Talking Heads could've just swapped styles for all their album artwork (or at least the early albums for each) and it would have worked perfectly.

Wolf by Tyler, The Creator

Oh also remembered that the vinyl release had that version with Tyler on a bike but I like the original way more

That's a really good comparison. I've been collecting those partially because they look so nice (though he's also probably my favorite author).

The US cover of Is This It is really uninspired:

The well-known international cover is stylish of course, but I was just thinking that with such a great title, they could have come up with an image more in relation to the title.

The original Is This It cover and album are just miles better imo. Better songs, more "controversial" cover which fits the garage rock image much better than whatever the hell that blue and gold cover is.

i'm not sure about this one (Big Star "3rd"):

The 1992 reissue (with its very 80's graphic design)

Or the 1978 original:
