I said that I wasn't particularly keen to compare instrumental releases with vocal releases, but that they were allowed (except for albums which were just instrumental versions of vocal releases, like the 2001 Instrumentals or the Piรฑata Instrumentals). Repo's choice is therefore completely valid, in spite of my personal dislike of it.
My bad then. Might go for a DJ Shadow single then if I somehow progress to the next round.

And I won't be doing it again! ๐Ÿ˜ข ๐Ÿงฑ

ps. I totally stand by my choices. I kinda needed something different. A palate cleanse before diving back into more standard hip hop, and BOTH these albums really fir that need. Wildly inventive and FUN! I honestly like that Kool Keith album even better than Dr. Octagon (which I also love obvs.)!

The only matchup of the round I really had lots of trouble making up my mind, but the more I think about it, the more I'm leaning towards 1995. Matthew remains my favorite album of the matchup, but it's not enough to carry the team against two undeniable classics which I may not love but definitely respect. Still major props for this eccentric and colourful 2000 team.

The Coup song was my favourite single from this round but I had a lot of fun listening to the Kool Keith and Kid Koala albums, so again I am going against the flow and chucking a vote the way of 2000.

Hardly the place to bring this up, but it was announced yesterday Black Rob passed away. Kept racking my brain as to where I heard that song recently, and then I remembered it was here.
