This was an easy pick for me. Henri Texier (and his son!) make some incredible music that harks back to the 50s and 60s. Having played a string instrument at one point in my life, I also love when bassists are band leaders, and Texier (Sr.) does a great job of it. Laura Veirs didn't do much for me. _________________ 51 Washington, D.C. albums!
Two very good albums. I slightly prefer Chance, but I'm a bit surprised it's so lopsided thus far. _________________ Join us in the canon game / Add me on RYM
Laura Veirs for me, ever so slightly. Neither is in my top 100, but both are pretty close. Neither is very unique if I'm being totally honest, but I always have time for folky and sweet indie pop which was the deciding factor here. Texier's brand of post bop is still dope, don't mind it going through. _________________ Overall chart Fake overall chart
