Didnโt know that this existed. Is it Worth getting for the additional tracks?
It's pretty good. I just streamed it, Johnny, but I imagine it would be good on vinyl. I sold all my vinyls 18 months ago when I moved to a smaller place.
It's got 9 extra tracks, and the selection is pretty good although I would have included 'She's Leaving Home'. But it's still very good. The mix is good and clear.
There's the Red Album 2023 mix as well. That one has extra tracks like 'Twist And Shout' and 'I Saw Her Standing There' and loads of deep cuts off 'Revolver'.
All exciting stuff for a Beatles fan.
Also the Blue Album 2023 has the latest track 'Now And Then' as its closing track.
Thanks for that Charlie, very helpful and thanks for taking the time to reply. I may well invest in at least โthe blueโ, but probably both.
Iโd be gutted if I had to get rid of my vinyl but needs must.
Thanks Johnny!
Yes. I was gutted, but there it is.
Hope you enjoy the albums.

You should always try to minimize gutting in any case, but if you ask me, the red one is the one to get.ย The differences in the stereo mixes is really significant with the red one (especially with the really early stuff), but with the blue one, not so much. I suspect that's the real reason why they made "Love Me Do" the b-side to "Now and Then," too, by the way... That's the earliest track and the difference is fairly striking, even to people with "unsophisticated ears." Whereas with the blue one, you've got all the tracks already, probably in multiple configurations, so unless you're one of those folks who hate "cleanup" remixes in general, I'd say it's significantly less essential. Gutting or no gutting!
