Second album in...The Beatles were still recording cover songs. And George Harrison wasn't writing songs yet. In true early Beatles tradition, they gave one song to Ringo to sing ("I Wanna Be Your Man"), and George got to do this Chuck Berry classic. Fitting, as he was the lead guitarist and got to play the iconic guitar parts as well. His lead vocal is double tracked. Lennon, McCartney and Starr play their normal instruments on the track.
Of course, it would be quite the omission if the 1973 version by Electric Light Orchestra was left out. This is the only song in the career of ELO that was not written by Jeff Lynne. It's the song the band performed the most live, and closed concerts for years. It was called by many overblown and way too long (the US version is just over 8 minutes long), but the worst was the US single version which is chopped into a horrible 3:42. It is, though, by far, the most interesting cover of this song.
The original, a classic that will live forever, is from Chuck Berry in 1956, one of the songs that kicked off the rock and roll era. It was released as a single with the B-side "Drifting Heart".

Gordon Mote (feat. Voices of Lee) - 2013 - As far as I know, this is the original version. If there was another version before this one, I'm not aware of it.
This post will be a little different. My favorite singer Lauren Talley and the group she was in The Talley Trio (AKA The Talleys) like the music of Dottie Peoples so much that they have recorded 3 of her songs. So, I'm going to post all three songs by both Dottie Peoples and the covers. I'm starting with "On Time God". Here is the cover by The Talley Trio with Lauren Talley singing lead. It's from 1998.
Next here's The Talley Trio's version of "Testify" with Lauren Talley singing lead from 2000. This was the closing song they performed when I saw them in concert.

I've actually posted more than that in other posts here before. I just wanted to focus on three songs in this post instead of just posting a lot of covers of just one song.

The point:
Is it really necessary to post 8 (or more) youtube videos in one post? For the reason stated above... _________________ I'm leaning on the threshold
