Lonely Ghost does what ambient is supposed to do; pull you in. This sonic ghost of reversed sound texture and a lingering synth so subtle the average listener won't ever recognize it, tries to communicate a broken tale from a few centuries ago. But it remains mysterious and eerie, and it gives the best impact. That one is a straight masterpiece, and elevates it to a higher plane of sound art. This one managed to send chills down my stomach. Also, the guy who made this is apparently 14 years old, that's impressive.
Lonely Ghost sounds nice, but feels like needs to be enjoyed as part of a greater whole. While Holy, Holy doesn't always works (and I was been pretty mid on the Black Midi hype before), it has both the nice feeling of nostalgia (all the ironic smooth-man lounge-meets-alt-rock of the late 90s) as well as the modern uber-noisy/throw-it-all-on-the-wall approach that it works in spite of it's frequent self-awareness.
