Apologies for what's been happening over the past day or so. I'm just gone the road for about a week and things always seem to go to pot when I go away ๐ , which is probably why I've been slow to spot extent of the problem. The site is basically riddled with bots in the background trying to scrape content (not just AI bots like OpenAI, Apple, Google, Baidu, Alibaba etc but home-made python scripts etc, few of which obey any kind of crawl limit and some even disguise their identities to prevent them being blocked). May have to go nuclear soon and block everything, but then it affects things like SEO if you block the wrong bots (which then affects traffic to the site). I'll keep a closer eye to see what attacks the site next. I'm sat in a hotel room at the moment trying to restore normal service, chained to my computer just like I'm at home, incredibly frustrating & hopefully things become a bit better today. _________________ Bluesky ยท Facebook ยท Spotify ยท X

No worries, seems to be back to normal for time being (blocked a very aggressive crawler). _________________ Bluesky ยท Facebook ยท Spotify ยท X

It's gotten to a point where any kind of search for forums or chart additions that includes any non-letter character comes up empty.
Example:
Drive-By Truckers = no results.
Drive By Truckers = Drive-By Truckers _________________ I'm leaning on the threshold

I've been getting this repeated error message the past couple days when trying to edit charts. Clearing cache and restarting browser (Chrome) has not helped.
Apologies, an error has occurred loading this page (Unhandled status code 504):
The server experienced an unexpected error. Please verify the address and try again. _________________ Join us in the canon game :) / Add me on RYM

Likewise.

Same. 504 errors all day long, and just generally massive lag. Interestingly, some things are fast (like the Search field looking up names) but when I actually click on something it either takes forever or 504's. Then after it 504's, I could sometimes refresh and it would come up. Right now, things seem to be working, though. Well, mostly working - no 504's but still laggy.

AI crawlers at it again ๐คฅ - it's been a continual nightmare lately, spoofing user agents, changing their IP addresses etc (blocked quite a few already but also dealing with very bad actors). I'm trying lots of stuff in the background which has slowed down 'real' development (site finances can't afford sophisticated mitigation/paid services so trying my best to keep on top of it). _________________ Bluesky ยท Facebook ยท Spotify ยท X

just flagging that i'm also experiencing this issue, specificially when trying to look at the "Listened" portion of my profile. have been for a few days, and previously it would fix after a refresh, though this seems to no longer be the case...
