Good idea, I haven't borrowed music from the library since vinyl days. They were always scratched and sounded terrible. Hopefully the CDs are in better condition.

I'm a big advocate for CDs, Vinyls, etc. Sure, MP3 files are nice because they're cheaper, or free(darn you Limewire) but are they tangible? Can you hold it, or thumb through a booklet? Do you get the joy of putting a CD into a CD player for the first time?

Now I'm a junky for the feeling of going into a record store, thumbing through their music to find things I didn't expect, or rant about things they should have. It's fun. In fact, I've probably purchased around 50-80 CDs in the past 3 or 4 years from a few record stores for that very reason. Now don't get me wrong, iPods and the what not are nice, but what I say people should do is go and get the CD or order it, and then you can put it onto your iPod. That's what I do. In fact, I think I only have three albums and one EP on my iPod, but those are only because of iTunes cards. Otherwise, the rest is all ripped from a CD.

Basically I say CDs for the win because they're tangible and they're a bit more fun then just downloading something.

Well I love CDs and Vinyl, in fact I cherish every single one I have. I much rather prefer to have the music in my hands, but when I want some music that I wanna try out I download it illegally. I'm a major piratebay user. In fact I have like 3000 illegally downloaded songs on my iTunes. 😜

I have like 15 CDs I've bought, I much rather would have CDs because it's 100% guaranteed perfect quality, but I just hate having to pay money. >_> And I can't ever find any good CDs at the stores, but I do admit that Best Buy has the best CD collection of any I've ever seen, as well as some record shops in Kansas City I've seen.

I only have like 4 LPs my dad used to own, all Beatles albums; Sargent Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, Abbey Road, The White Album, and Let It Be, all in near perfect condition. I could get some bucks out of those, but I don't wanna sell them.

Most of the people I hang out with don't listen to the same music as me, and San Antonio has a shitty library system, so I buy most of my albums. I would prefer to download most of them form the net but my internet is so slow that it takes a good couple days to download a single album.

I try to make a trip to the CD store at least once a month, but I've been having to cut back as of late to save money for college. That said, most of my music is in CD form, with some paid downloads and less than 20% illegal downloads.

I love browsing in CD stores (from Virgin megastore to local retail shops). I usually end up buying something I wasn't looking for (but was waiting for me 😉 ).

i-tunes store is nowhere near as exciting. I like to unrap a new disc, read all the liner notes, etc...

I think you have a higher consideration for the work behind a (good) album when you've actually bought it and have the finished product between your hands. Digital (virtual) music, imo, feels like disposable junk art.

In the same way, I could never pull myself to read an e-book.
