Wow. This is where it begins to hurt. If you don't believe me, take a look at the films that got booted out during the last round.

8 1/2 (WHAT??), Life is Beautiful, Ikiru (WHAT??), A Separation, M (WHAT??), La Jetee, Grave of the Fireflies, Seven Samurai (WHAT??)

Which leaves us with our hardest matchups yet. Take a look.

4a: Persona vs. Breathless
4b: Spirited Away vs. Stalker
4c: Last Year at Marienbad vs. The 400 Blows
4d: The Mirror vs. Amelie

Okay, so thus far I haven't been voting until the very end, effectively saving my votes for tiebreakers. But we're so close to the end now I simply cannot wait. Here's my votes, out in the open.

4a: Persona vs. Breathless
4b: Spirited Away vs. Stalker
4c: Last Year at Marienbad vs. The 400 Blows
4d: The Mirror vs. Amelie


The only remaining film which I don't really care for too much is Spirited Away, so seeing it up against Stalker made it absolutely necessary to participate.

Damn Laughing I figured Le Jetee would be cut, but the rest are brutal.

Yeah, not nearly as tough as the last round for me. The fact that neither Kurosawa film made it really pisses me off all out of proportion to how significant this actually is. #KurosawaIsTheGOAT
