How many people are on this site?

I have a number of BEA users on my profile but wondered if others venture here.

...

Plus, the added idea of getting exposure to my page on RYM. Rate, vote for genres and find what you are missing.

Probably my favorite site for cataloging my digital and physical collection. Wiped ratings awhile back though so I need to go through it dedicated in making it accurate again.

I'm new to the whole online world. What does RYM provide that I don't already get here?

BEA is far better for creating charts, but Rate Your Music is built to be better for, well, rating music. You can name each of your 10 possible ratings, and look back at your own stats right from your profile page with ease. RYM is great to see, for examples, how many albums I've listened to from the 60s, or what my highest rated Hip Hop albums are. It's also fun to get the average rating of my friended users for certain albums.

The community is pretty uninspiring though, but that's obviously entirely optional.

Oh yeah, and here's mine: https://rateyourmusic.com/~PunctureRepair

I have an account that I created basically to talk to someone I know who is a member there. To me, the site is ugly, old and clunky. The forums are ridiculous, and adding information to the site is way too much like work. The pale colors are lame. The entire site looks like it was built in the 80's. And there are way too many people there.. While RYM may do a few things that BEA does not, none of those things are worth enough to me to make me want to spend any amount of time there at all. The only real use RYM is to me is for getting info for data moderation, but even with that, you have to be really careful because their info is not always accurate.

RYM is terrible to me. If I'm going to make a chart online, I want it to look good.

I used to use it to keep track of what ive heard, because i easily forget stuff. But it was such a hassle going back and figuring out what ive heard that i basically stopped using it completely. Think i should start that up again ๐Ÿค”

But yeah being able to look up genres is the best part of the site.

And im the same name as here. add me i need friends

I use discogs more. RYM is the last line of reference, but they have a ton of albums there that aren't on discogs.
