And it's time for the first battle of the Best of 1974 tournament.
In this corner we have a progressive Blue Grass album by a band called The Seldom Scene, including guest appearances by Ricky Skaggs and Linda Ronstadt! It's called Old Train. I'm looking forward to hearing this one:

And in this corner, we have a concept album by what purists regard as the Classic Genesis line up of Peter "So" Gabriel, Tony "The Shout" Banks, Steve "Defector" Hacket, Mike "the Mechanic" Rutherford, and Phil "Sussudio" Collins! It's the current BEA favorite, gonna be tough to beat, The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway:

Old Train is one hell of a CBG(B) album! I seriously doubt it will beat Lamb Lies Down, but it if you dig no frills, lean, well played classic country/bluegrass, it's a must listen. Will be adding it to my listening queue.
edit: Fans of early 70s live Grateful Dead will likely find a lot to love here.

^^^This. I really love what Listmeister is doing with this tourney. Already his incredible enthusiasm and humor as well as his clearly very organized and planned qualities are making this whole thing a fun, and surprisingly interesting spectacle of sorts! Bravo so far, Gamemaker.
As for this match... I have some listening to do before I vote. Both albums actually. _________________ -Ryan

Old Train was quite good, but there's one Genesis album that definitely beats it in my opinion, and it just happens to be this one. Lamb Lies Down On Broadway is probably the only Genesis album thatI actually love. My love for Carpet Crawlers is enough to beat pretty much anything. _________________ http://jonnyleather.com

I've not heard 'Old Train' by The Seldom Scene before... I had to vote for the album though as it needs all the help available to pass Genesis. Go go train go!
