No this is not a thread for the band Live. This is a thread for live bands, albums, performances, everything. So I'll start off the discussion.
I'm on my fifth live album this week. I just heard 3 live Zep bootlegs and The Song Remains the Same. Now I'm on "At Fillmore East" by my favorite Southern rock group, The Allman Brothers. Personally, I can't get into the album like other people can. It's got flair, but it's not comparable to At Folsom Prison or the Song Remains the Same.

I believe that Grateful Dead are the greatest live band of all time, and Live/Dead is their best official live album(from what I've heard).
The only other 2 that I really feel are the best representations of the artists work, and the peak of their music, are Live at Roseland NYC by Portishead, and Stop Making Sense by Talking Heads.
I heard Elvis' 1968 live album (from the NBC TV special) for the first time yesterday. Say what you want about the guy as an artist, but damn... dude could sing.
