Roy Montgomery is an avant-garde guitarist that has played for Dadamah, Dissolve, Hash Jar Tempo (a collaboration between Bardo Pond and Montgomery), and his own solo works. His style is influenced by the likes of John Fahey, the minimalist composers Terry Riley, LaMonte Young, and Steve Reich, and others (e.g. sounds like he enjoyed Sonic Youth), and as such is usually repetitive/minimalist yet full with often harmonizing loops among his variations, whose product can range from a wall of delicate picking to a wall of distortion, and often comes off as ethereal, or maybe cacophonous.
