Hi everyone. I joined this site a few months back, but today I've finally made considerable progress on my top albums chart. Though still a work in progress, I've made a top 20 with fairly lengthy reviews for my top 5, though it's only a start. I'd love to see what you guys think of it!

Some of my favorite bands include Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Radiohead, King Crimson, The Doors, and more. My chart includes albums from 1966 to 2002 and everything in between, including psychedelia, prog, hard rock, grunge, alternative, and more. But yeah, if I could get some insight, that'd be great. ๐Ÿ˜

You write really well, and as you say this is the beginning of your journey through music, so I really look forward to seeing what you think of some new discoveries - and I hope BEA will help to deliver some of those.
Your chart isn't anything I haven't seen before, but with your comments it's a real gem, and it'll surely develop as you spend more time here.

Hope you stick around!

Well thanks!

Do you have any album suggestions? I'm open to pretty much everything.

You're gonna be drowning in recs before long. ๐Ÿคฃ You asked Puncture, not me, but what the hell...

Seeing as your chart notes all deal with societal problems, why not try some punk? I suppose the first punk bands I really loved were things like Dead Kennedys and Refused, so try them. Never got into things like The Clash and The Ramones, I think the earliest punk band I adore is X-Ray Spex (unless you're counting, like, MC5), but they're well-loved so sure, try them too. You'll probably dig Refused's incorporation of not-usually-punk sounds. The Shape of Punk to Come is good, try it! ๐Ÿ˜„ My only reservation is whether or not you'll be into the kinda harsh vocals.

Unrelated to the punk recs above, but I figure you'll like Swans too. I like Soundtracks for the Blind the most but your best bet is to read about each of their albums and see what sounds most appealing to you.

edit: sorry for saying "try it!" so much lol.

I just haven't been able to get into punk stuff. I have friends who love Dead Kennedys and Ramones, but I can't get into them or Sex Pistols or any of the other uber-punk bands.

However, I did get London Calling today and love it. ๐Ÿ‘

Now I've heard that Los Angeles is really good, and I absolutely love the album cover, so I think I'll try it when I can.
