I'm happy just to bring him to some people's attention if they didn't already know about him, but it shouldn't be overlooked that Paco de Lucia was hugely influential in his own genre as well and was hugely inventive, he practically invented modern flamenco & developed offshoots such as flamenco fusion that continue to flourish today. De Lucia's impact on his genre, and his playing and composition wasn't of this planet. I don't see how any rock guitarist could be a better guitarist than de Lucia.
