- Post subject: The Great BEA Novel redux
|
Yep, since it seems we're into writing stories again and the Novel Writing Month is coming to a close, I think it's time to take another stab at the (often unfinished) art of writing a BEA novel. No real rules this time, just follow the previous post and have fun.

"Whatever Happened to Squshy Puff Dave?" asked Defago as he leaned against the jail's giant transparent wall, looking carefully as if to figure what he was looking at was real or just a hologram.
"Oh, Im sure he's still near, somewhere" his pal Space Tiger said cooly without looking at him.
"You sure of that?" Defago replied.
Space Tiger glanced up from the book he was reading long enough to catch Jhereko walk up jovially to Necharsian at the other end of the yard, appearing to be handing him... something... and then proceeding to whisper in his ear. "Oh Im sure of it, and Im sure there's something brewing related to... this situtation" he said, perching up his eyebrows when he caught Defago's eye as if to make sure there was no ambiguity in his statement.
"Did the stars tell you that, or are you really just that hopelessly optimistic?" replied Defago, with a slight smirk
"The stars tell me many things, but sometimes all you need is some earthly common sense to catch what's really going on around you" replied the old Tiger in his same earthly tones.
"Well whatever's going to happen, it better be quick, even i can't stand another minute inside this fourth-world hellhole".
"If we we're quick and organized, we all wouldn't be locked up here, at the apparent edge of the earth, in the first place."
"At least Jackie got out."
"Yeah. Then she was rewarded, you know by getting eaten by a bunch of alligators. Getting out is only the first battle."
"True. I guess. Well, If we didn't get cocky and burn the mattresses, we wouldn't have given them a scent in the first place." said Defago as he slumped back down to the ground
Space Tiger put his book down for a second, sporting a puzzled look. "What are you talking about?" he asked.
"Oh I see, the senility is kicking in early. Nevermind" Defago said, closing his eyes
Space Tiger grinned slightly and replied "well obviously there were plans you youngin's didn't allow me to be privvy too. I guess some boring adult common sense ruins good fun but saves lives. But you can be rest assurred this isn't the end. Dave's sudden dissapearence was telling enough, then Puncture and Zero also "got transferred" at the same time? Transfered to where else? Trust me you crazy peruvian, it just takes some patience, although some- he squinted when he saw Antony Pedro squirming on the ground- probably aren't going to last long enough".
"Well as long as it's before The Special One's play, Ill be thankful" Defago said as he rose back up, dusting off his maroon-colored jeans. "Do you want anything from Mecca's treasure chest before I go see him?" he asked suddenly.
"No, all I have is my book and the rim of my glasses, and I think in the end that's all Im going to need" he replied, in an unusually sly tone. Defago looked puzzled and thought about asking what the old Tiger meant, but knowing what he needed to go get he ran back towards the main cells in a fury.

Humming his favorite Ethopian nursery rhyme, The one known as The_Poet continued his rounds after lights out, blithly checking if the doors were shut and continued back out to the main yard. It was when he got back towards the main security entrance is when it happened again- what appeared to be a laser shot right near his face. In a nanosecond he hand his gun brandished back towards the direction he saw that laser try to hit him once again, but like every other night he saw nobody. The yard was as desolate and quiet as it always was this time of night. He has seen the lasers come at him before, but nobody believed him. Every guard who has done his shift never had these encounters like he did. However, he was completely sure he wasn't going crazy, even in a place like this, and knew someone, somewhere had it out for him. And the lasers seemed to be aiming a little closer towards him each time. Paranoid but relieved, he put his gun back in the holder and took one last look out near the giant wall before he continued back to the office.
