I have an idea which I think everyone would appreciate. I thought of making a chart to celebrate the forum regulars here on BEA. Basically, we write a summary of ourselves on this thread, a summary that lasts one or two paragraphs, talking about our favorite kinds of music and how we're each unique on BEA and how we appear to everyone else. For example, I would talk about how I'm a grunge fan who makes a lot of charts and uses Bandcamp a lot. This summary will appear in a user's entry on the chart. Also, any past usernames will be listed under an "A.K.A." section. There will also be a section for our favorite bands (up to three, maybe five) and a link to whichever of your charts you want to link. One chart per user. As for order, the users will be listed in alphabetical order along with any album they wish to put on their entry sine the chart must be of albums. If the album is taken by a user who was already listed, they must choose another album.

So, what do you think?

With regard to my previous username. Nooooooooooooo

EDIT: This might be a fun novelty for some regulars but, I don't think it's really my cup of tea. I mean it's the Top Albums by BEA Members chart with a few fancy descriptions only inflating our ego even further. Sorry, to crush on your hopes and dreams.

It would have been better done in the past. Even then it would have been better to let new users learn about other bea members through being on the forum.

Yeah it seems like a very elitest idea, how do you decide who gets one of these and who doesn't? it just becomes a status symbol, while the information itself is trifle.

Elitist? You are aware it's just a chart project, a group project I thought we could all share in. Ony criteria is that you need to be a forum regular, nothing else. It's just for fun and has no real meaning to it.

You're probably thinking "Then why do it?" Here's why: a chart is a chart and nothing else.I make them for fun, and they really shouldn't be taken that seriously.

The point I was making is that there's no baseline for that criteria. But like you said, it's just a chart, and it doesn't matter, so I really don't understand why you had to make a topic about it.

With all due respect Jman it will be hard to decide who counts as a regular and who doesn't. To do so we would need some sort of quota (like how many posts, voting by other users etc) which in turn makes it kind of a special club.

The nature of thread means well although it might not get what is intended. It could be fun though.

To see if other people are up for it. Besides, if they were, it could've been an ongoing topic where people could post the basic stuff they wanted, instead of a pass and go thing.

How about an average posting count of 3 or 4 a day? Is that good,or does it need more than that? I can't think of anything else than a common amount of posts that qualifies as a forum regular.

That excludes most of the mods.
