BestEverAlbums uses a points system to determine the functionality that is available to each member. The more points you get, the higher your level will be, and the more features you will be able to use.
(It's also possible to purchase extra points or become a 'Premium Member' to bypass most of this).

Member points can be gained in all sorts of ways: by assigning ratings, leaving comments, participating on the forums, moderating data, and creating charts:
Each on-topic forum post:

Each comment:
2pts
Each chart entry (in 'public' charts):
2pts (recognised charts 3 pts*)
Each mod update:
1pt
Each rating:
½pt
(*5pts for recognised charts created prior to 2025-07-01).
