What separates those two tracks from the rest of the album then? If that comment has to be of any value to anybody other than you, that is. Do you really think the rest is that much different, in terms of style, quality or whatever? Personally, I feel it's a rather cohesive and consistent work, the whole album. Some tracks, of course, are more joyous or melancholic than others, but what they have in common is that they are all excessively layered with strings and spacey synthesizers and constitute a fascinating, delightful and somewhat life-affirming double album journey. I think, actually, the tracks are kinda interchangeable, but in a good way. They drift right into each other. Like a huge spaceship slowly guiding you through the entire universe! So why only those two tracks? _________________ "The Beatles, the greatest band known to mankind." - Bismah Mughal

It's all pretty cohesive. I just think those two songs are pretty good whereas the rest aren't really. I'm happy for you if you enjoy it, I just don't. The album's really cheesy, and not in a good way. Those two songs are also pretty cheesy, but they're catchy enough that I don't mind it as much. Sort of like how I really love "Sunday Bloody Sunday" and "New Year's Day" but most of War borders on unlistenable for me. Some songs are just better than others.

It's corny as hell, but I love it anyway.

Well, alright. I would've thought that "Turn to Stone" was just as catchy as "Sweet Talkin' Woman" or "Mr. Blue Sky" and thus just as likeable... just goes to show that even the quality of being catchy is something very subjective. _________________ "The Beatles, the greatest band known to mankind." - Bismah Mughal
